Art and Design

Inspiring encounters

Take a wander through our house and discover its long-standing history, lived traditions and fascinating works of art - consolidated under one roof. Besides a Biedermeier bureau, an original tabernacle, as well as several paintings and other art objects in the rooms, we like to enchant our guests with the individual door labels and the impressive stone structures.

hARTwig e temel - A passion for stone art

Have a seat and enjoy an uplifting moment marvelling at the stone sculptures. "The archaic, primeval stone, the clear lines and the reflecting glass surfaces create tension that gives the spaces a special, elegant and dominant atmosphere."

Erwin Schwentner - A judge with an affinity and talent for art

Let the 29 door labels and several sculptures take you by surprise and put a smile on your face. "Erwin Schwentner was born in Graz, Austria in 1945. In one of his two lives he is a severe judge, in the other one he is an ironic bard, part of a grotesque, surreal humanity, that is pervaded by a subtle insanity." Further information about Erwin Schwentner.

Anna Skrabal - Sculptures

Staying in room 14,15 or 20 sculptures by the Austrian artist Anna Skrabal await you. Being a child and youth psychologist the artist describes her sculputures as an externalisation of feelings, symptoms and situations. Find out more about Anna Skrabal.

Uniquely charming

One special hotel

"We stayed in a suite with a really large living room, bedroom and bathroom. Everything was just fine. Special compliments to the entire staff - they were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in the old town, the pedestrian zones and the shops in the city centre can be reached on foot within a few minutes." [Source: Booking.com; May 2016]
